This transformation is being led by the Revive Willowmore team, whose vision and dedication have turned an idea into visible change. To bring this vision to life, they’ve collaborated with talented artists — among them Fourie Ackermann from Friemersheim, whose creative work has made a striking contribution to the project. Each mural adds its own unique story, sparking conversation, inspiring pride, and helping to shape a new visual identity for Willowmore.
Local businesses have played a key role in driving this momentum. Many have chosen to commission murals on their own premises, funding the work themselves as a show of faith in Willowmore’s future. The Revive Willowmore team continues to look for the next building that can be restored, uplifted, and given a splash of new life. They’re also inviting artists from near and far to get involved — to bring fresh ideas, styles, and interpretations that will enrich the town’s growing artistic landscape.

During 2026, our goal is to launch the official Karoo Art Tour — a self-guided experience that celebrates the heart and artistry of Willowmore. This tour will go beyond murals, incorporating sculptures and locally crafted pieces that capture the essence of Karoo life. Paired with our Taste of the Karoo restaurants and charming accommodation options, the Art Tour will offer visitors a fully immersive cultural and culinary journey.
