The highlight of the initiative will be an annual Karoo Gardens Festival which will be held at the end of October or beginning of November each year. This festival aims to bring residents and visitors together to celebrate our cultural heritage, natural beauty, and the true essence of the Karoo while raising awareness of our beautiful town.

• Year-Round Experience: Our long-term vision is for visitors to be able to experience these beautiful gardens throughout the year, creating a lasting tourism appeal. This vision will be promoted to help showcase the true essence of the Karoo.
• Empowering Families: By supporting and encouraging local residents to grow their own vegetables, we aim to alleviate poverty, improve food security, and promote healthy living. Over time, we will explore opportunities for growers to sell surplus produce at a weekly market, further contributing to the local economy.
• Sustainable Business & Employment Opportunities: As the initiative expands, we will explore sustainable business opportunities, including the production of compost, making concrete garden pots, building raised vegetable beds, and developing seed banks. These ventures will provide additional employment and economic growth for the community.
